Chicago Eats: Cozy Winter Food Diary

This was my first time in Chicago during he winter time. As y’all know – in a previous blog – I love Chicago but I have only been there in the summer and fall. Not gonna lie I still like Chicago in the winter time. If you are thinking of visiting Chicago, here is my Chicago winter food diary for some ideas.  Also, in my instagram highlights I will be adding more of a recap of what to do/where to go.

Note: Winter Tip

I came to Chicago for my friend’s birthday and she wanted us to hang out at Andersonville because there were a lot of shops right next to each other. Since it was still cold outside we needed convenience! Some of these spots are in this neighborhood. I share this to say that if you wanna survive the Chicago cold but also enjoy yourself, choose a neighborhood where you can go to a lot of spots because it is such more convenient when they are heavily concentrated in the same area.

Trike Noodles

This is a thai restaurant so my basic self got the drunken noodles. I got their medium spice but honestly didn’t taste any spiceness. So if you do like spice, I would recommend getting the highest spice

De Floured

If you are a gluten free babe please raise your hand because this is a gluten free bakery. I was here because my friend is gluten free. But I did get their lemon pound cake and wow, I feel like that tasted better than any regular degular lemon pound cake

Minyoli

I HAVE to come back here. It is a Taiwanese restaurant that will change your life. I had one of the best fried chicken I have ever eaten. (I know right? Because I am Black and raised in the South so how is that possible). But THIS is a must! I also  ordered the sesame noodles and it was also quite yum. This is one of my favorite spots in this chicago winter food diary.

Caribella

This is a Carribean restaurant that I went to that was quite delicious. A good mix of veggies, protein and carbs in the mix. I got the Caribella – yes it is the same name as the restaurant. This is another spot that I must come back to in Chicago!

Hopefully this gives you some ideas of where to eat at if you visit Chicago especially in the winter time
