Black Owned Fitness Activities In Minneapolis

If you are looking for Black Owned Fitness Activities in Minneapolis to do this summer – I gotchu! Most of the list below I have tried out and recommend
1. Run BLK
Raise your hand if you’re a runner. If you want to start running but are scared to, check out my blog on beginner running tips: what I wish I knew before I started. Because I get it – running is scary which is why running groups like Run BLK can be so great! They offer 3 groups: 1) running only, 2) run/walk and 3) walking. You can go at your own pace and however you please. It’s a very family friendly space so bring your kids and dogs if you’d like to. Check them out on instagram @runblk to stay up to date
2. Camdentown Tennis
This is your time to practice your tennis skills for fun so you can play like Serena Williams. From what I remember, they split you into two groups – people who are beginners and those with some more experience. It’s a great place to meet people and more often than not, you’ll see the same people at Run BLK here also. They are meeting once a month this summer but to keep up with their schedule, follow them on instagram @camdentowntennisclub
3. Biking With Baddies
This group is for my bikers. Another family friendly space. It doesn’t matter your level because all are welcome! I haven’t been able to go because my bike isn’t the best type for this level of biking intensity. So don’t be like me and make sure you get a proper bike for long distances instead of a leisurely bike meant for beach days. Updates can be found on instagram @bikingwithbaddies.
4. PWRME Athletica
You know those videos you see online of girls stepping to music but it’s exercise? Well that’s what this is. Their WE STEP classes is one of my favorite Black owned fitness activities in Minneapolis that I haven’t been too in a while. It’s the best combo of cardio and stepping that feels like dancing. Check them out @pwrmeathletica.
5. 612 Jungle
When you see 612 Jungle – think yoga. I also haven’t been here yet but I have heard positive reviews and is one of the most popular Black owned fitness activities in minneapolis. They have classes like hot scupt, flow, etc. Check them out @612jungle.
6. Spyce Pilates
Someone mentioned this on tiktok and I’m shook I didn’t know about this Black-owned woman pilates spot. It is located in Downtown Minneapolis. Follow them on instagram @spycepilates.
