adulting is a funny thing because nobody teaches you that grieving is simply a part of growing up. whether that’s grieving a season, a friend, a family member or maybe even yourself and who you once were. For some of us grief can make us feel stuck. it makes us long for what once was. it can make us think

where do i go next?
how do i move forward?

And as someone who is about to turn 28, i’ve been searching for the answer to this. i’ve been wondering how do we grow when grief feels so paralyzing.

when it feels so isolating. And something that has helped me is giving myself permission again. giving myself permission to evolve. by letting myself move forward by simply looking backwards – backwards to my childhood – to what

I really loved as a kid

Cuz when we pick up these childhood loves, we can slowly break out of this adulthood paralysis & be who we were always meant to be. if we quit lying to ourselves saying we don’t know know what we wanna do. (when in fact we do we just lack the courage to be honest with ourselves) and we finally do the thing we feel led to do

maybe in our grief, we can make the person that we lost proud, the thing that we’ve missed & the old version of ourselves proud too. because grief comes and goes but maybe thats the whole purpose of it. to constantly remind us that life is about seasons. some more painful than others but regardless of what season we are in we are gonna make it through even when we see no way out

so feel all the feelings while grieving and let it remind you of what’s next because maybe just maybe the next season of life might be the best chapter of adulting yet.

What do you think?
